FIVE MUST HAVE TIPS FOR STRESS FREE SENIOR PHOTOS
YOUR STRESS FREE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA SENIOR PORTRAIT SESSION!
Here at Pixel Pages Photography I am all about making your East Bay senior portrait session as seamless and stress-free as possible. It doesn't matter what city we are in, whether it is San Ramon, Pleasanton, Walnut Creek, Danville, or Dublin we are going to have an amazing time! So here are five quick and easy tips to make your portrait session a fun and relaxing one that you will remember for years!
1.) Remember to have fun!
Your senior photo session is an experience you want to savor and remember over the years. At first I considered putting this tip last and then realized that, no, it needed to be first because YOU having fun with your senior pictures is so vital. As your portrait photographer I am here to do all the worrying for you. With just a little bit of planning (suggestions are listed n the following tips) you will be able to focus on the enjoyment of this milestone moment. A few jittery nerves before a session are completely normal! I am guessing that this is your first senior portrait session, right? But here’s the thing, photographers want you let loose and enjoy yourself! We will play music, we will laugh over corny jokes, and we talk about a variety of things to help your feel your most confident and comfortable. CAL HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR PORTRAITS SAN RAMON, CA
This is a milestone moment your family has invested in because they love you. Splash in those waves or in that creek. Twirl with reckless abandon. Start doing that funky dance you only do in front of your friends. Share with me all the thoughts that make your eyes light up with wonder. I want you to feel good in front of the camera because that is what helps create beautiful and authentic photos that you and your family will love.

2.) Communicate with your photographer
If you have a concern or a question please about anything related to your East Bay senior photo session reach out to your photographer and let them know. Why is it so helpful? Well, there are two primary reasons for this:
First, your photographer may not know that there is a part of your body you’re self conscious about and don’t want highlighted.
Second, communication helps both of you build a solid and trusting foundation, which is so important. It can be nerve wracking and/or you can feel vulnerable in front of the camera. When you start building that strong foundation of trust and communication you will feel confident in knowing that your photographer has your back. My clients’ trust is like the holy grail to me. When you seniors are with me it is imperative that you know this is a safe and sacred place; communication is the cornerstone of that.
I often joke that I am part psychologist because I have to figure out what my clients are saying without really saying it and helping everyone feel represented when it comes time to ordering their heirloom artwork. It is one of my super powers!

3.) Read all the material your photographer sends you
Many professional photographers have some sort of client prep information. If we are working together that means you’re going to receive a session guide that is loaded (and I mean loaded!) with useful tips, links to Pinterest boards I have curated, a location gallery, and oodles of other information to guide you every step of the way. These tips come from years of working with seniors. Some are things seniors and I have learned the hard way and trust me, none of us want you learning that way lol!
When your photographer sends you information like a guide or a list of tips it may seem like an unnecessary step that you can easily skip, but we do this to help you prepare and to help you feel prepared. I promise there is a reason behind all that information we send your way!

4.) Try on every outfit
Give it all a test run. This means with your accessories and undergarments in addition to your outfits. You don’t want to arrive the day of Bay Area photo session and discover that your bra straps are showing or there’s a tan line you thought would be hidden. Eek! Better to try on beforehand so you can take care of any clothing mishaps before we are on location with limited resources.

5.) Pull it all together a day or two before
Get all your clothes and accessories pulled together a day or two in advance of your session. This means having all garments steamed and on hangers, all your shoes tucked into a bag, and all your accessories and undergarments in small baggies and clipped to the hangers of the outfit they go with. If everything is together that ensures that nothing will be forgotten as you are heading out of the house in giddy anticipation of your photo session. This is especially important if you have a special piece of heirloom jewelry that you are wearing. Think of how disappointed you would be if we were miles from home and you realized your mom or grandma’s necklace, the one you have dreamed of wearing for a special occasion, was sitting at home on your dresser. Take it from me, someone who always forgot something at home when we were traveling until I got very methodical about putting everything together lol!
