KARA'S PLEASANTON CA HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR PHOTOS, SAN FRANCISCO EAST BAY PHOTOGRAPHER
PLEASANTON CA SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHER
As a professional San Francisco East Bay senior portrait photographer it comes with great joy when I have the privilege of photographing a high school senior that I have watched grow up. It is a bittersweet moment having loved that senior as a little baby or toddler and now knowing they are well on their way to adulthood. Kara, her mom Dayna, and I discussed several options for her Pleasanton CA senior photo session and decided that our regional hills would be best. It was a location that Kara loved, there was a creek (refreshing for these warm summer sessions), and this location in the Livermore hills paired perfectly with her chosen wardrobe.
LIVERMORE CA SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHER
Kara favors a more casual style and we celebrated that look with her clothing choices. It is important to wear what you feel comfortable and confident in for your San Francisco Bay Area senior photos. Plus her outfit options also allowed for a lot of movement, like her walking photos, fun jumping photos, and allowed her to easily sit on the ground and on rocks. The jumping photos were a hoot because they allowed Kara’s lively personality to come out. This is the Kara I know and adore so I was thrilled to incorporate that in her images. Her brown hoodie and beige crop top paired nicely with the verdant greens in our nature based location, while her denim and floral top were perfection when paired with the creek and rusty hued bridge.
SAN RAMON CA HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHER
Kara has played volleyball both for her high school and competitively so incorporating her varsity letterman jacket was a must. We wanted to celebrate her athletic accomplishments in a low key way. Kara is a quiet and humble soul therefore I knew that she would feel most comfortable keeping it simple. This is why our style consult before your session is so vital. It allows us to discuss things like what you want to incorporate in your photos as well as getting to know one another better. Your senior photos should be an authentic representation of you. We can plan a smaller show of your academic, musical, or athletic achievements if you’re more on the introverted side like sweet Kara, or curate a dynamic display of certificates, equipment and trophies if that is more your speed. Every senior is different, every senior has a different comfort level, and it is my goal to honor you in whatever way you are most comfortable. ACALANES HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR PORTRAITS, LAFAYETTE, CA
Speaking of authentic photos, it is a family tradition to take a few silly ones during every photo op and photo session when I photograph Kara and her family (we have had lots of sessions over the years). I feel like this tradition most likely started with Kara’s dad and uncle making silly faces all the way back to their high school days. But it has stuck and is something I always want to honor because dang if it isn’t fun and hilarious!
DUBLIN CA SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHER
One very adorable moment during our session was the family of raccoons we saw popping into the creek. The random cameo appearance of nature’s critters is something I love about on-location Bay Area portrait sessions. Unless it’s snakes or tarantulas. Eeek! With them I have a policy of we will respect your space if you respect ours lol 😆 . But I have an obsession with raccoons (my love for trash pandas runs deep!) so Kara and her mama kindly allowed me a moment to photograph them. In fact, they loved the raccoons so much that these photos even made an appearance in Kara’s heirloom album!
WALNUT CREEK CA HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHER
Kara, I am so proud of you and all you have done throughout your high school years. You are breathtaking both inside and out and I know you are going to kill it in volleyball during your college years. The world is your oyster and may you find your own shiny and perfect pearl in the sea of life.
